Getting Started with Model Intelligence

Model Intelligence HyperTools are powerful meta-modeling capabilities within Sim4Life that enable rapid exploration and understanding of complex simulation models. This section provides an overview of the key concepts and workflow.

Overview

Model Intelligence transforms computationally intensive simulations into fast, accurate mathematical models called surrogates or meta-models. This enables:

  • Rapid Parameter Exploration: Test thousands of parameter combinations in seconds
  • Sensitivity Analysis: Identify which parameters most influence your results
  • Uncertainty Quantification: Understand confidence bounds and risk assessments
  • Design Optimization: Find optimal configurations efficiently

Key Concepts

Functions

Functions represent immutable snapshots of your simulation workflows. They define: - Inputs: Parameters you want to vary (design parameters, material properties, etc.) - Outputs: Quantities of interest (QoIs) you want to analyze - Evaluations: Simulation results for different input combinations

HyperTools

The Model Intelligence suite includes several specialized tools: - Setup: Configure functions and define parameter ranges - Response Surface Modeling: Build surrogate models - Uncertainty Quantification: Propagate input uncertainties

Workflows

A typical Model Intelligence workflow involves: 1. Function Creation: Define inputs, outputs 2. Setup Configuration: Select functions and define analysis parameters 3. Data Generation: Efficiently sample high-dimensional parameter spaces 4. Analysis: Use HyperTools to gain insights from your data

Access Modeling Intelligence HyperTools

  1. Sign in to your preferred Sim4Life platform
  2. Navigate to the Dashboard
  3. Click the "+ New" button
  4. Select HyperTools from the available options
  5. Choose your analysis type:
  6. Response Surface Modeling for parameter exploration
  7. Uncertainty Quantification for statistical analysis
